The final event for the BITS project, held in person, will conclude four years of Europe’s first and only cycling specific ITS project. Bringing together project partners and stakeholder from the cycling and ITS communities, the Conference will inform participants about the objectives of the project, its successes from the implementation of projects throughout the North Sea Region, as well as lessons learned and where we can go from here (hint: we’ve got bigger and better things planned!).

Participation in the Conference (including Cycling Tour and Pre-Conference Dinner on the 15th) is free of charge. Deadline for registration is 9 November 2022.

The Conference Programme

The morning of the Conference will be dedicated to two plenary sessions where high level speakers will give their perspective of how ITS and cycling can have a powerful impact on cyclist safety, comfort and confidence. Speakers include representatives from the City of Zwolle, the Province of Overijssel, Interreg North Sea Region and the European Commission.

The afternoon will allow participants to engage in breakout sessions: Track A will look at the implementations, guidelines and best practice for tendering of bicycle ITS projects, with Track B offering dedicated sessions to Cycling in Zwolle and the Province of Overijssel. A bike tour and networking dinner will be hosted prior to the Conference on the 15th of November.

Exhibition Area

An Exhibition Area will also be set up where companies can feature their ITS and cycling technologies. If you or your company would like to have a booth in the exhibition area, please get in contact with Sam Pierce from Cycling Industries Europe (s.pierce@cyclingindustries.com). Companies from the North Sea Region will also be eligible for a grant to support their expenses incurred to exhibit.
