Data can support the decision making process in bicycle infrastructure planning. Dashboards may make a positive contribution to learn more about infrastructure shortcomings if these provide relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and visualizations. The Bike Path Radar (Radweg Radar, radweg-radar.de) which is a dynamic dashboard for experts from the cycling planning domain provides relevant information about cycling infrastructure. The frontend of the dashboard (https://dashboard.radweg-radar.de/) enables the end user to create different KPIs regarding cycling accidents, citizen reportings, traffic volume etc. that are of highest interest. Many different types of visualizations (graphs, map, pie charts etc.) are available for spontaneous analysis. The most important KPIs were identified based on expert interviews which were conducted with experts from the cycling planning domain. In addition to that, the dashboard gives new opportunities for citizen engagement. Every user who is interested can upload images of bike path damages in a reporting tool (https://dashboard.radweg-radar.de/meldung). The images will be processed by an AI object detection algorithm. The detected damages, mainly cracks and potholes on asphalt surfaces, will be displayed on a map by a marker to find locations with surface shortcomings. Actually around 16.000 bike path damages are displayed on the map.
